On February 10, 2017 our dear Darry left this earth to fly with the angels. Darrell G. Puckett was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Dalhart, TX. He was raised in both Texas and Ohio, being a transient war baby. He had a deep love for his Texas heritage.
Darrell was a graduate of the Augusta Military Academy, Fort Defiance, Virginia. He so loved the life of service and brotherhood that he joined the USAF after graduation.
He spent his 20 year Air Force career as an electronics engineer, and as a procurement and reconnaissance specialist. These talents were specifically employed during the Vietnam War. His numerous medals attest to his dedication to his service.
After retirement, Darrell continued to work at various employments, but was still stirred to enrich others with his passion for WWII railroad modeling with the LRA, and numerous hours of dedication to Silent Wings.
Darrell leaves behind his beloved wife Jeanette, daughter Leith Ann Murph and husband Scott, an uncle Richard Puckett and wife Fern, sister Annie Plummer and husband Mitty, sister Gail Mowrer.
A private family service will be held at a later time.
