Guestbook | Print Obituary

Tim King, devoted husband and father, began his ultimate day of rest on October 7, 2017. Those left to honor and carry on his legacy and the spirit in which he lived are his wife of 27 years, Angie, and his daughters and son-in-law, Kailee and Miller Porter, Jessica King, and Julia King.

Tim was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 14, 1961. He was the son of the late Jesse King and Dolores King and brother to the late Bret King, who was married to Kim. Tim worked for Lubbock County for almost twenty-five years.

Family and friends gathered on Monday, October 9 at Spirit Ranch to pay tribute to and celebrate Tim, fondly known as Fat Cat and King-Dog. Tim was a man who lived life with intention, purpose, and by his own terms. A selfless and caring man who never sought attention for himself, Tim lived to serve God and his family. His greatest pride and joy and what brought him the most pleasure in life was his beautiful wife and three girls.

An avid fisherman and hunter, Tim loved being in nature, which was his favorite place to talk to and listen to God. He also spent many seasons coaching his girls in softball, yet more importantly coached them off the field and instilled wisdom in them everyday simply by the way he lived his life.
