Maxine Drury of Lubbock Texas, succumbed to illness on January 4, 2018 after a four-year battle with Kidney disease. Born in Bowie County to Beulah and Boyd Smith in 1941 and raised by Jeff and Beulah Bradley after her mother remarried. She came to Lubbock in about 1950 and would remain there the rest of her life. Mackie attended Lubbock High School. She was married for 48 years to her husband Joe Drury and became a bookkeeper and later Office Manager for James Mears Motors where she would remain for 27 years. She was an avid fisherman and camper and was a member of Cotton Pickin' Sams camper club along with her husband Joe. Her favorite pastime was bowling and in 1974 she joined the Workdodgers women's league where she would remain continuously for the next 43 years until 2017.

Mackie is preceded in death by her Husband Joe Drury of Lubbock; sister, Kay Mears of Lubbock; brothers, Weldon Smith of Rhome Texas, and John (Sonny) Smith of Little Rock Arkansas.

She is survived by her daughter, Karla Drury of New Waverly, Texas; grandson Jonathan Drury, and his wife Meagan of Lubbock; great-granddaughter, Katherine Drury of Lubbock; a sister, Dorothy Willis of Tacoma Washington; step sister, Janey Fenstermacher; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 13, 2018 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
