Marvin Thomas Heinrich was born in Wilson on September 30, 1931 to Herbert and Marie (Angerer) Heinrich. He died peacefully at his home in Lubbock on August 8, 2018 with his family by his side.

During his early years, he attended Idalou ISD. In 1950, he joined the United States Navy and was on the USS Platte (AO-24) during the Korean War until 1954. While stationed in San Diego, California, he met the love of his life, Betty (Larsen). They married on September 25, 1954 and moved to Ralls where he started farming. After their retirement, they sold their home and bought a motor home. For seventeen years, they traveled around the United States. During the winter, their home was in Edinburg, Texas and in the summer, they lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Marvin recently stated about his life with Betty, "We've had the best life, we've done it all!"

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, JC Heinrich, one sister, and a son, John Joseph.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; two daughters, Teresa and husband Norman Norris, Janice McGee all of Lubbock; two sons, David Heinrich of New Braunfels, Paul and wife Melissa Heinrich of Richmond; brother, Gerald and wife Sandy Heinrich of Georgetown; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Heinrich of Idalou; twelve grandchildren, Lisa Burns, Alan Norris, Nick Norris, Lezleigh Burns, Sarah Heinrich, JD Heinrich, Linzie Welch, Kaylie Starch, Mindy Starch, Colin Heinrich, Jared Heinrich, Nicole Heinrich; and thirteen great grandchildren.

There will be no service at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st Street, Lubbock, Texas 79410.
