Kevin A. Combest, CFSP  - Email Kevin
President/Owner - Funeral Director/Embalmer/Crematory Operator

Kevin is a native West Texas resident. He was born and raised in Snyder, Texas graduating from Snyder High School in 1988. Kevin moved to Lubbock in 1990 to attend Texas Tech University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1993. He later attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service. He has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer since August 1996, and successfully completed his Crematory Operator Training Certification in December of 2003. He was named to the Panhandle Funeral Directors Association Board of Directors and was active from 2002-07. Kevin has been an active member of the Texas Funeral Directors Association since 1999. In September of 2008, he received his Group I General Agent's insurance license for preneed and was appointed to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice in 2010, receiving the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation. He is also an active member of CANA (Cremation Association of North America). From 2008-2014, he served as facilitator of Grief Share, a ministry of the Sunset Church of Christ, where he and his family have worshipped since 1998. Kevin also serves as a Deacon. In 2013 Kevin was appointed to the Hospice of Lubbock Board of Directors and served until May 2016. He received recognition as the 2013 Funeral Director of the Year for the Panhandle Region. He is married to Tonya and they have one daughter, Karlee.

Vice President/Funeral Director - Administrative Management

Tonya was born and raised in Lubbock, graduating from Monterey High School in 1989. She has worked side-by-side with Kevin in the funeral business since 1995. Early on they lived in Floydada and helped manage Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home for Mrs. Billie White-Everett. Upon purchasing Combest-Miller Mortuary and Crematory Service, she transitioned with Kevin in their ownership role, while being a wife and mother to their daughter Karlee. Beginning in 2005, Tonya was an active board member of the Crestview PTA, serving as president in 2007-08. From 2010-13, she served as a board member on the Frenship Foundation for Leadership and Frenship District Improvement Committee; as well as PTA President at Heritage Middle School 2011-13. In May of 2013, Tonya received her funeral director's license through Amarillo College and served on the Panhandle Funeral Directors Board from 2013-2016.

Funeral Director

Deana was raised in the Texas Panhandle having lived in Tulia, Farwell, Friona and Hereford areas. She is a 1991 graduate of Hereford High School, and a 2003 Graduate of Amarillo College with an Associate's Degree in Mortuary Science. In 1997 she began working in local funeral homes in Hereford and Friona. In early 2004 Deana and her family moved to California to join her husband as he served in the United States Marine Corps. She worked as a licensed California Funeral Director for 6 years, and was active in the California Funeral Directors Association. In 2010 they moved closer to their families and found the land of opportunity right here in Lubbock, working as licensed Texas Funeral Director and currently working to receive her Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation. Deana and her husband Billy were married in 1994 and have two teenage children, Rebecca and Brandon. She is active in the Frenship band boosters, Special Olympics-South Plains, and her family music ministry. She enjoys making memories with her family and working on knitting projects for the Southwest Cancer Center of Lubbock and Special Olympics-South Plains. Deana currently serves as Past-President of the Panhandle Funeral Directors Board.

Funeral Director /Embalmer

Danielle was born in Lubbock and became a native of East Texas at a young age. She graduated from Harmony High School in 2007 and began college at Tyler Junior College. She later realized her passion for the funeral industry and earned her Associates Degree in Applied Mortuary Science from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas in 2010. Danielle is excited about her new endeavors and loves serving families during their time of need. She has a heart for serving others and is committed to serving her families with compassion and respect.

Josiah Anaya, CFSP  - Email Josiah
Funeral Director/Embalmer

Josiah joined the Combest family in 2016 after serving the families of Lubbock and Levelland for the previous two years. He is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and earned his Bachelors of Science degrees in Chemistry and Mass-Communications with minors in Psychology and English and his Masters in Public Health. He is a member of Congregation Shaareth Israel and passionate about his volunteer work with The South Plains Food Bank and the Morris Safe House.

Sam Aguilar  - Email Sam
Funeral Director/Embalmer Apprentice, Crematory Operator

Sam is a Lubbock native and graduated from Monterey High School. While attending Monterey she acquired auto collision skills that have allowed her to do custom refinishing, and today it has become a well known hobby of hers. After high school Sam moved to Houston to pursue her career as a funeral director and embalmer. After graduating from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services, she sought out her career here in Lubbock. She is currently doing her provisional as a funeral director and embalmer and has recently obtained her Crematory Operator License. Sam has one son, Javid and husband, Josh who support her in pursuing her career.
