Kelly Dee (Price) Rogers, 57, of Shallowater, passed away from her earthly home on Friday, January 27, 2023. She was born on April 20, 1965, in Slaton, Texas to Bill and Venita (Hobbs) Price. Kelly grew up in Hurst, TX and attended LD Bell before moving to Lubbock in 1982 where she graduated from Coronado High School. She attended Lubbock Christian University where she studied Elementary Education. She married Keith Rogers on December 11, 1987, in Lubbock, Texas. Kelly worked at Just Kids Preschool from 1995 to 2006. She then was the recruiter with the Development Office at Lubbock Christian Schools from 2006-2017. After working there, she served as the Children’s Minister at South Plains Church of Christ where her family attends church.
Her service to our Lord was always focused on children. Whether it was teaching them their ABC’s, their colors, that God loved them, lots of Bible stories (her’s being Noah and the ark) she was “all in” full of energy and more importantly JOY. While being the Children’s Minister she was determined that “her” kiddos knew that she (and more importantly God) loved them all the time not just at the church building. With her husband they attended many sporting events, dance recitals, theater performances, art exhibits, etc. No event was ever too early or too late in the day. Nor was any event too far away.
Kelly loved board and card games, all things crafts- decorating, needle point, cross stitching, and especially scrapbooking. She loved to take trips to Disney with her family where she often came up with matching outfits for all of them to wear. Kelly loved to attend her boy’s sporting games, no matter the distance she was always there. She will best be remembered for being a devoted Wife, loving Mother, a precious Daughter, amazing Sister and an admirable Servant.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 35 years, Keith Rogers; sons, Keaton (Jenae) Rogers and Kadison Rogers; mother, Venita Price; sister Shae Price of Austin, sister Crystal (Will) Osborn of Post; numerous nephews and nieces; and her guardian until the end, Kye, the “miniature” Australian shepherd.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Bill Price; Joyce “Nanny” Smith; Alvis “Papaw” Hobbs; Ada “Mama Bess” Hobbs; Aunt Beverly Finch; Uncle Lynn Hobbs; Eula Mae “Little Grandma” Arthur; Mildred “Nana” Price; Wayne “Grandad” Price and the best furbaby ever, Kenobi who met her at the Rainbow Bridge.
