Rosary for Zenaida Gonzalez (Flores – Carmona) 88 of Idalou will be Friday, March 3rd, at 6:00 pm at Venue on Broadway, Lubbock, Texas. Mass will be at 2:00 pm Saturday March 4th, at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church.
Burial will be in the Idalou Cemetery under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.
Zenaida Gonzalez died Sunday February 26, 2023 in her home. She was born October 25th, 1934, in Amatlán de Cañas Nayarit, Mexico. She attended school in Guadalajara Jal., Mexico. She married the love of her life, Noe Juan Gonzalez, on April 27th, 1956, in Falfurrias, Tx. They moved to Idalou from Lubbock in 1967.
She was a Cursillista and very charismatic. She was a homemaker her whole life.
Survivors include three sons, Ruben (Rose), Gilbert, Jesus Gonzales, all of Idalou; six daughters, Margarita Winn (Dudley), Isabel Olivarez (Carlos), Esperanza Calvillo (Luis) all of Idalou, Rosario Salinas, Carolina Gonzalez and Angelica Abercrombie (Brian) all of Lubbock; 27 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Sabina Flores Carmona of Guadalajara Jal., Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noe Juan Gonzalez, Sr; son, Noe Juan Gonzales, Jr.; grand-daughter, Christina Belinda Gonzales; both parents; two sisters, Maria Luisa Gonzalez, Maria Feliz Flores Carmona; three brothers, Jose Flores Carmona, Alberto Flores Carmona, and Juan Flores Carmon.
