Alejandro Lechuga

July 17, 1962 — April 18, 2023

Lubbock

Alejandro made his presence to Ignacio and Mercedes Lechuga on July 17,1962. He was a joy in his parents’ hearts.

He had an adventurous soul as a toddler and continued throughout his adult life. He played football in middle school. In the summer months, you could find him spending time with his friends or riding dirt bikes.

There would be touch football that would soon become tackle football with some of the neighborhood kids in the front yard. Later when he turned 13, he would spend his time cruising or racing with his sister Dee.

He enjoyed taking road trips with Gloria and Dee. He graduated from Cooper High School. Soon after he entered the work force, doing seismographs and was on the survey crew, working all over Texas and New Mexico. During this time he was briefly married in his early 20's.

When he decided to move back to Lubbock, he found employment with Furr's Warehouse as an order picker and forklift driver. He did work as a tow truck driver before going into construction. His last employment was with Park Towers in Lubbock.

The last two years of his life, he had developed medical issues. On April 18th, 2023, Alejandro left this world to be with our Lord and Savior. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his siblings at his bedside. He was pronounced deceased at 7:04pm at Lakeside Rehab Hospital, Lubbock, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents (Ignacio and Mercedes Lechuga); great niece, Tess Dominguez; recently great niece Melodie Boivin; great nephew Xavier Caballero; great-great nephew Marcellus Boivin; and great-great niece Lezlie Caballero.

He is survived by siblings Janice (Stan) Perez of Lubbock, Texas, Ignacio (Sofie) Lechuga of Lubbock, Texas, Dee (Red) Pelton of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, Gloria (Wayne) Rusk of Carrollton, Texas; Nieces and nephews: Randy Martinez, Theresa Martinez, Victoria Dominguez, Isabella Matinez, Angel Martinez, Jennifer Boivin, Nick Valdez, Dakota Boivin, Kassahndra Boivin, Mercedes Perez, Kiana Perez, Mia Boyer, Ecliam Boyer, Liliana Trevino, Jacob Pelton, Danielle Pelton, Kolbren Pelton, Kettrick Pelton Kollin Pelton, Brandon Rusk, Neha Rusk, Kelsey Rusk, Andrew Corbett, Brandi Lechuga, Chaise Colyetta, Jaja Espericueta, Cassandra Gilley, Michael Gilley, Tai Gilley and Avani Gilley; and several cousins scattered over the states.
