Lubbock

Amanda Kay (Moore) Miller, 28, passed away May 12, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. She was born July 10, 1995, to Archie and Tanya (Wilkerson) Moore, in North Richland Hills, TX. Amanda graduated from Texas Tech University in 2020, and married Landry Miller in April of 2023. She was a Member Services Representative with Brightside Health.

Amanda was the brightest light with the biggest heart. Ever since she was a kid, shes always, naturally, found ways to care for other people, especially those who were going through hardship. Shed go above and beyond for anyone and everyone who had a need. She did so for everyone in her family, all her friends, even strangers she just met. Its who she was. Shed been through her own dark and difficult moments over the years, but it’s a testament to her resilience how she used those moments to cultivate a deep empathy she could share with everyone she met to immediately make them feel at ease and cared for. Her power was her unconditional and selfless love.

She put that power to work in her job at Brightside Health where she would happily answer the call of anyone looking for help with their mental health, help them feel seen and safe, and guide them to receive the care they needed. She was beloved by her coworkers and by the members she helped support and her impact was abundant.

In 2016 Amanda met Landry Miller, and from the first moment they locked eyes, they knew they’d found the love of a lifetime. They bonded quickly over their shared love of movies, and quickly learned how to push each other to be the best version of themselves. They were married in 2023 and shared their best days together over the past year with their beloved cat, Jamie, setting out on life’s greatest adventure.

Amanda could find joy in any place. She was quick to laugh and gave the best hugs. A promised “two second” conversation would often turn into an hour as she loved to share every small joy in her life with those she loved. She loved popcorn, sunflowers, Disney movies, 2000s TV shows, and every small gift anyone ever gave to her. She was a light in every room she entered. Though her time here ended sooner than they’d hoped, her family and friends will hold her memory close and carry on the light and deep love that she so freely gave, to keep her sweet spirit alive forever.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Jane Moore, Tom Wilkerson and Sandy Wilkerson. And her cousin Jordan Schley. She’s survived by her loving husband, Landry Miller, her parents, Archie and Tanya Moore. Her brother Travis Moore and family, Jordan, Peyton, and Dax Moore. Her brother Philip Moore and family, Grace, Eloise, and Arthur Moore. And her in laws, Mike and Karen Miller and Mitchell and Lisa Pearce.
