Amy Turner, 38, of Lubbock went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was born February 23, 1974 in Lamesa to Mike and Peggy Cline. She graduated from Dawson High School in Welch, Texas in 1992 and went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. Amy worked as a teacher in Marble Falls, Whitney, Dawson, Welch and New Deal. She was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and West Texas Church at the Barn. She married David Turner on November 20, 1999.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband David and their children, Lyla and Jax; parents, Mike and Peggy Cline of Lamesa; grandmother, Ava Hallmark of Lamesa; three sisters, Jana Ashburn and husband Jeff and LeAnne Hook and husband Jason, all of Lubbock, and Shelly Cline of Lamesa; two nieces, Ashley and Steeli Sellers; and two nephews, Dillon Ashburn and Gideon Hook.
Amy was preceded in death by one grandmother, LaRue Johnson and grandfather, Arlis Cline.
Viewing will be from 12:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 and 1:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at West Texas Church at the Barn in Lubbock with interment following at Lamesa Memorial Park in Lamesa, Texas.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Paul Anderson and the staff at Joe Arrington Cancer Center, as well as the staff at Hospice of Lubbock for their tender compassion and care.
