Anna Belle Byrd

Anna Belle Byrd (Decker) born September 10, 1935 in Tahoka, TX passed July 24, 2024. She is survived by her three children, Pamela Jean Byrd, Patricia Ann Johnson, and Terry Lynn Byrd; and her grandchildren, Christopher Allen Ingersoll, Justin Charles Ingersoll, Casey Mckenzie Byrd and Rory Scott Johnson. Sister-in-law, Geneva Miller and husband Milton Miller. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis William (Bill) Byrd; her oldest son, John Timothy Byrd; her mother, Nettie Ann Traweek Decker; her father, Carl Otto Decker; and her grandparents, the Deckers, Traweek’s and Luttrell’s.

Anna Belle married Lewis on August 16th, 1958 in Tahoka. She was a beloved member of her community and compassionate matriarch for her family. She worked as a beautician and a homemaker. She enjoyed ceramics, crafting, puzzles and collecting her favorite animal, penguins.

The funeral service for Anna Belle Byrd will be held graveside in Amherst, TX, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 1st, 2024. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Lewis William (Bill) Byrd. First Baptist Church of Amherst will be hosting a dinner for family and friends at 3:00 PM following the Funeral.
