Aparicio "Pat" Enedina (Talavera) Prado, beloved wife, passionate retired business owner, and dedicated community member, passed away on October 18, 2023, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Pat was born on September 14, 1931, to Marced (Estrada) and Catarino Talavera in Fort Davis, Texas. Pat's warm presence and kind-hearted nature touched the lives of those around her in immeasurable ways.

Education was always highly valued by Pat, and she received her Business Degree in Lubbock, Texas. This educational achievement provided a solid foundation for her professional endeavors and contributed to her success in the business world.  During her time in college, she met the love of her life, Hortancio “Ardy” Prado.  They married on November 18, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas.

Pat and her husband Ardy shared a lifetime of love and adventure as they owned and operated Ardy’s Appliance Services company for over twenty years in Austin, Texas. Their hard work and commitment to excellence made them pillars of the community. Pat's entrepreneurial spirit coupled with her unwavering dedication ensured the success of their business.  They sold their business and moved back to her hometown Fort Davis to care for aging parents in 1990.

Beyond her career accomplishments, Pat was an extraordinary individual who found immense joy in various hobbies and interests. Crocheting and knitting were not only creative outlets for her but also a way to spread warmth to family and friends through beautiful handmade gifts. Her skilled hands created countless cozy blankets, scarves, and needlework art pictures that brought comfort to many.

In addition to her love for crafting, Pat had a heart for serving others. Her strong sense of community led her to volunteer for numerous organizations in Fort Davis. Whether it was dedicating time at the local library or courthouse, lending a helping hand in the church choir or the food bank, or actively participating in the Chamber of Commerce, Pat's selflessness knew no bounds. Her exemplary spirit of service stood as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Pat's life was shaped by her profound love for family and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her son Miguel Talavera Prado.

Pat is survived by two brothers-in-law John and Roy Prado and one sister-in-law Margarita Osuna, all of Lubbock, numerous nieces and nephews, and a loving community of family and friends, all of whom were fortunate to have been touched by her genuine kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering support.
