August Timothy Moeller (77) passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, in Lubbock, TX. He was born Wednesday, August 1, 1945, to August “A.H.” and Wilma (Pinson) Moeller, in Wichita Falls, TX. Tim moved to Lubbock in 1976, and owned and operated August Pies until he retired. Aside from running the family business, August enjoyed playing tennis; he is quoted as saying, “I beat Bobby Riggs at tennis.” He played tennis every Wednesday, for more than 30 years, with the same group of guys, and was also a member of Lakeridge County Club for 30+ years. August liked Texas Tech sports, Texas Hold’em Poker, tennis, classic cars, and playing 45-rpm records.
August was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, his father and mother, August and Wilma, and a sister, Dorothy Estep. Those left to cherish his memories are his 2 sons, Brian August Moeller, Kyle (Kathy) Moeller, and their children, Peyton and Abigail; sisters Joyce Cassell and husband Emory and Wanda Edwards.
The family will have a memorial service at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Lakeridge United Methodist Church, to honor the life of and cherish the memories of August Moeller. Arrangements were entrusted to Combest Funeral Homes and Crematory. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to West Texas Parkinson's Society.
A special thanks to all of his friends and medical staff who took time to care for or spend time with Dad in his last few years. There are too many names to list, which was a blessing to him and a testament to his legacy.
