Barbara Parrish, 60, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday evening, November 30, 2021. She was born to the late Jim John Duran and Janet Marie (Love) Duran on February 3, 1961, in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas.
Barbara attended Lubbock High School. She has been involved in the banking industry for 40 years and has been with City Bank in Lubbock for the last 7 years as an Accounts Specialist. She also worked at Christ the King Cathedral Catholic School for 8 years as their secretary. Barbara was the ultimate people person, very outgoing and social. She loved her grandchildren, cooking, going on vacations and traveling. She was a hard worker and very dedicated to her profession. Barbara was a faithful member of Christ the King Cathedral Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, daughters Kristin Hope Parrish and Brooke Porter of Lubbock, Kate Gazzaway of Clarksville, Arkansas and son, T. J. Parrish of Lorena, Texas; one brother, Scott Duran of Lubbock; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim John Duran in 1962 and James John Duran in 1963.
Visitation for Barbara will be held in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 1 PM to 8 PM, with Recitation of the Rosary at 6 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Christ the King Cathedral Catholic Church with Father John Ohlig as the Celebrant.
Pallbearers will be Michael Duran, Tracy Parrish, Sr., Justin Franks, Christian Nevarez, Joe Gazzaway and Martin Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the Parrish family requests memorial donations in Barbara's memory be made to Christ the King Cathedral Catholic School Foundation, 4011 54th Street, Lubbock, TX 79413.
