Beatrice Mendez

Beatrice (Bea) Mendez II of Lubbock passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. She was born in Richmond, Texas to Raymond N. and Beatrice M. Mendez I on August 7, 1952 and moved to Lubbock with her parents in 1959. Bea graduated from Estacado High School and worked at Texas Instruments for 20 plus years before becoming an associate at Walmart for 15 years. Bea also worked for the Buddy Holly Performing Arts Center where she enjoyed watching free concerts (lol). Beatrice lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Carlos Rangel Jr. of DFW ; daughter, Belinda Rangel of DFW; brothers, Joe Richard Cantu and Raymond Mendez, Jr. both of Houston; sisters, Bertha Maldonado and Brenda M. Mendez of DFW and Bernice M. Ortiz of Lubbock; grandchildren, Donovan Markell and Briana Nicole both of DFW, as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Jerry Castillo.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:15am on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with a mass to follow at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Lubbock.
