Betty L. Clark, 81, of Wolfforth, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, December 15, 2024. Betty was born on March 17, 1943, in Artesia, Eddy County, New Mexico, to the late Wesley Bell Shannon and Bertha (Horton) Shannon.
Betty attended Roswell High School and graduated with the senior class of 1961. She furthered her education by receiving her LVN from South Plains Technical College (SPTC). She worked at the Hale Center Hospital and Covenant Medical Center, spanning over 30 years in nursing before she retired.
She met the love of her life, Donald W. Clark, and they were united in marriage on September 8, 1961, in Roswell, New Mexico.
She loved to sew, quilt, paint and enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts. She was a member of 82nd and Avenue V Church of Christ in Lubbock.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Donald; two sons: Tony Clark and his wife Lori of Amarillo, and Rick and Felecia of Wolfforth; one brother, Mike Shannon and wife Everal of Carlsbad, New Mexico; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Corey Clark in 2003; and three brothers, Gary Shannon, Gib Shannon, and Fred Shannon.
There will be a time of reflection and visitation for Betty from 5:30 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway, Lubbock, TX. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the 82nd and Avenue V Church of Christ, 8207 Avenue V, Lubbock, TX 79423. Mr. Steve Bell will be the officiant. Cremation will follow services, which are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
