Betty Rodela

Betty Rodela (Mama), 92, was born on January 4, 1929, in Rosebud, Texas to Refugio and San Juana Mendoza Gonzalez. She began her life in marriage with her loving husband Isabel Rodela on February 19, 1950, and eventually established their home in Petersburg, Texas.

The love of Betty's life passed away November 12, 2011, in Petersburg.

She continued to live in Petersburg as a homemaker until 2016. Thereafter, she made her home in Bedford, Texas to live with one of her sons, Frank Rodela and his wife, Tammy.

Betty was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg.

Betty went to be with our Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 12, 2021. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Esperanza Chavez and Fannie Rodriguez; and two brothers, Porfirio Gonzalez and Paul Gonzalez.

She is survived by her younger brother, Abe Gonzalez; daughter, Mary C. Gonzales and her husband Gilbert; four sons and their spouses, John and Mary Lou Rodela, Louis and Laina Rodela, Frank and Tammy Rodela, and Albert and Sherri Rodela. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will start at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg, Texas with rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 to 10:30, Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg, Texas with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. burial will follow that at the Petersburg Cemetery.
