Betty “ Oma” Joann Kieth, 85, of New Home passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in her home. She was born on July 18, 1937 in New Home, Texas to William Garland and Helen Lee (Armontraut) Peek. She attended New Home High School and then attended Texas Tech where she graduated with her bachelors degree. Joann married Jimmie Kieth on October 10, 1957 in New Home, Texas. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Joann will best be remembered by her love for her family, especially her grandbabies. She enjoyed all any sporting activity and was an avid Texas Tech Lady Raiders fan. Joann loved to travel to many places. She influenced many young lives while being a teacher at New Home ISD for 26 years in 2nd and 5th grade.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Murray (Angie) Kieth and Mickey (Kelly) Kieth; grandchildren, Brandy (Ryan) Yeats, Aubrey (Connor) Phillips, Heather (Shawn) Anderson, Stephanie (Chance) Taylor, Brittney (Tyler) Hawthorne, Brooke (Ryan) Brown, Caitlin (Mitchell) Marroquin, and Charles (Hayley) Kieth; great-grandchildren, Ryland, Raleigh, Reese, Trace, True, Keesey, Krissen, Tatyn, Tate, Rhett, Beau, Hayes, Quade, Gaige, Brady, Cooper, Boston, Berkley, Carolyn, Brice, Iris, Malachi, Skylar, Kade, J.B., Bela, Ryan, Abigail, and Samantha; and sister, Melody (Ronnie) Miller.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Kieth; sons, Brian Kieth and Todd Kieth; and grandson, Cody Swade.
A visitation will be held at Combest Family Funeral Homes (Tahoka) on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 1:00pm-8:00pm. Family will receive friends at the visitation from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Services will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 2:00pm at New Home Baptist Church. Committal will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
