Beverly Watson

June 7, 1937 — January 30, 2024

Lubbock, TX

Beverly Watson entered into Christ's arms on January 30th, 2024. Beverly was born on June 7, 1937, in Spur, Texas, to Clifton Wayne Bostic and Ruby Bostic. She married the love of her life, Bill Watson, on September 1, 1957, and together they created a beautiful family. Sadly, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years.

Beverly is survived by her 3 children and their spouses Kyle and Elvira Watson, Rodger and Monica Watson, and Debbie and Deron Tucker. Her legacy extends to her 11 grandchildren: Brandi Miller, Sherrie Watson, Brittany Cuaron, Jessica Ellis, Sienna Goldstein, Taylor Tucker, Beau Tucker, Chase Tucker, Davis Tucker, Isiah Valdez, and Mackenzie Watson. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved their "MeMaw" dearly, and she was the glue that held the family together. Memaw’s house was always home for everyone.

Beverly lost her father at a very young age, so she moved with her mother and her sister into her granny and granddad's house. Her granny, whom she loved dearly, scooted around on a makeshift wheelchair and Beverly would help her cook in the kitchen. This is where she grew to love cooking, baking, and serving others.

Beverly also had a very strong work ethic, and basically worked her entire life until she no longer physically could. At 11 years old, she went to work for Wackers Variety store in Spur. She would bring her paycheck home and give it to her mom to help pay the family bills. When she graduated high school, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Martin for several years. The majority of her life she worked in the banking industry in Lubbock. She worked at Briercroft Savings Loan, and she was also the branch manager of West Texas Savings and Loan for many years. Once her and Bill retired, they moved back to Spur, and she began working as the director of the Spur Senior Citizens Center, where she he loved serving and loving on the people there.

Beverly was a woman of great warmth and sweetness. In her later years, every time she went to an assisted-living, or even the hospital, the staff and nurses would fall in love with her. Throughout her life she found joy in cooking, serving others, and playing games. But more than anything, Beverly loved being with her family and spoiling them. She had a great laugh that could be heard across the room.

Her generous spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. Though her absence leaves a void, the memory of Beverly's love and kindness will endure, reminding us that she was truly a gift to the world and to her family. She will be missed so much, but her legacy of love will live forever.
