Bobby A. "Jack" Faulks

Bobby A. “Jack” Faulks of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born December 30, 1932 in Hawley, Texas to Alton and Pauline (Maxwell) Faulks.  After graduation from Hawley High, Jack attended Hardin Simmons College in Abilene where he met and married Yvonne Mitchell.  He joined the U.S. Army and spent two years at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Honorably discharged, he moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Technological College and began work as a journeyman plumber. Obtaining his Master Plumber’s License, he became co-owner and later sole-owner of J.N.J. Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Company specializing in residential new construction and repair.

He became interested in auctioneering and in 1971 attended the Dick Watson School of Auctioneering and began conducting public auctions of general merchandise. For the next 40 years, Jack Faulks, Auctioneer conducted countless public auctions throughout the Texas south plains.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne in 1987, and his later longtime companion Gwen Howard in 2004.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Mitchell (Buddy) Faulks and wife Susan of Levelland; one sister, Charlotte Hale of Wills Point; three brothers, A.C. Faulks of Uvalde, Jim Faulks of Big Spring, and Rick Faulks of Matador; and two grandchildren, Jacob Faulks of Dallas, and Miran Reynolds and husband Chance of Levelland.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Midway Cemetery located near the community of Hodges by Abilene, Texas.
