Bobby Ray Jolly, Jr., 52, of Tahoka, TX left this earthly life on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Bobby was born in Tahoka, TX on March 21, 1971, to Bobby Ray Jolly and Peggy Joyce Burdett Jolly both of Tahoka, TX.
Bobby attended Tahoka High School, graduating in 1989. While attending Tahoka High School he enjoyed playing defensive line for the football team. He worked for Lyntegar Electric Co-op for 29 years and dedicated his time as a volunteer EMT for Lynn County EMS for many years. Bobby met the love of his life, Traci Reed Jolly, and they were married on April 8, 2006. Bobby has two beautiful daughters, Bayle Jolly and Peyton Jolly; and a stepson, Bretton Engle, all of Tahoka. Bobby enjoyed hunting, building, and flying RC airplanes, and watching NASCAR, but most of all, he was the biggest fan of his daughters’ extracurricular activities, sports, and accomplishments. He took great pride in creating and maintaining a well-manicured yard, but the greatest accomplishment of his life was being the most loving and supportive husband and father anyone could ask for. You could always find him sitting near the dugout or in the stands cheering on Peyton and her team. He was proud of the young woman Bayle was becoming and never missed a chance to bid her goodnight with a nightly text. He was proud to see the husband and father Bretton had become.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Peggy Jolly; his grandparents, Wes and Dovie Jolly, Cal and Doris Higginbotham, and Roy and Betty Burdett. He is survived by his wife Traci Jolly; his daughters, Bayle Jolly and Peyton Jolly; his stepson Bretton Engle; his sisters, Vickie Jolly Parker of Fort Worth, TX, and Debbie Jolly of Lubbock; his sister-in-law, Kimberly Gosnell and husband Kennith of Brownwood, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as his Lyntegar family.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10 am at First Baptist Church in Tahoka with Daxin Hardage officiating followed by a graveside service at Nevels Cemetery in Tahoka. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes in Tahoka.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Bobby Jolly to South Plains EMS or Scurry County EMS.
