Bobette Starnes

Bobette Rebecca Brooks Starnes, 79, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022. She was born April 26, 1943, in Wheatland, Wyoming, to Robert Ralph and Helen J. Brooks.  The Brooks family moved to Lubbock while she was a young girl.  She was the big sister to two younger brothers.  She attended Monterey High School and graduated in 1961.  After graduation, she attended Texas Tech University and UTPB, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Literature and History.  She worked as a realtor for many years in Midland, Texas, before moving back to Lubbock to be closer to family.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and with her cat, Diamond.  She will be remembered for her love of shopping, gift-giving and cooking, especially for her chocolate cakes and chocolate pies.

Bobette is survived by her two children, Dr. Trey Starnes and wife Christy of Lubbock, and Stephanie Corwin and husband Steve of McKinney, Texas; five grandchildren, Mitchell Starnes, Thomas Neeb and Meredith Neeb of Lubbock, and Katelyn Corwin and Braden Corwin of McKinney.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers.

A memorial service, to celebrate Bobette's life, is scheduled for Monday, October 17th at 2:00pm, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway.
