Brenda Hernandez

Brenda Criado Hernandez, 60, of Lubbock passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, in Lubbock.  Brenda was born April 2, 1963 in Pleasanton Tx to the late Reynaldo and Soyla Criado. She attended Bean Elementary, O.L Slaton and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1981. Brenda then attended International Business College and was on the dean's list and graduated with honors. She married Ramiro Hernandez on April 29, 1989, in Lubbock. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Brenda was a pre-school teacher at the YWCA in Lubbock for many years and was referred to as Mrs. H. At Dunbar she was a twirler and also was in the band. She played softball as a Pitcher growing up and loved to play Bingo, she had the best luck and would win all the time. Brenda loved music, especially Mariachi music as well as her favorites Elvis Presley and Ram Herrera. She was also an amazing cook and known for her amazing Enchiladas and Rice. Brenda was a huge fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Dallas Cowboys (minus Tony Romo) and the San Antonio Spurs. She is leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy. She was a beacon of light always radiating with warmth and kindness to everyone. She will live on through her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ramiro Hernandez, and her children; daughter, Soyla Juanita Garcia (Emilio Garcia); a son, Hector Ramiro Hernandez; and daughter Alyssa Rae Hernandez (KC Hernandez) three sisters, Yolanda Criado, Samda Mendoza and Melissa Criado; six grandchildren, Michael Garcia-Criado, Alonzo Garcia, Hector Hernandez Jr., Adrian Hernandez, Alyana Hernandez and Addilyn Hernandez. Also with six nieces, two nephews, fourteen great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and two great-great grandpups.

Her visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM with the Rosary at 6:00 PM in the Venue on Broadway at 2202 Broadway.
