Camila Garza

Camila Garza of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the age of 92. She was born

July 2, 1921 in Pharr, Texas to Patricio and Angelita (Garcia) Serna. Camila married Eduardo Garza on September 10, 1939 in Mexico. She loved spending time with her family, friends and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Aida and Roberto Estrada, Blanca and Erasmo Flores, and Nina and Frank Flores all of Lubbock; one son, Pablo and Maria Garza of Lubbock; one brother, Hector Serna of Lubbock; two sisters, Manuela Torres and Santos Guerra both of Pharr; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Camila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eduardo; eight siblings; one great-grandson, Jerymi Alecxander Garza.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 1:00 -8:00 p.m. and Friday, September 20, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
