Catherine Barham

March 20, 1934 — November 9, 2021

Betty Catherine Barham, 87, of Lubbock, formerly of Tahoka, passed away Tuesday morning, November 9, 2021. She was born on March 20, 1934, in Wellman, Terry County, Texas to the late James Thomason and Alice (Hill) Thomason.

She married Bill Barham in Brownfield on December 13, 1960. Mr. Barham preceded her in death in August 1999.

Catherine grew up in Terry County, graduating from Wellman High School in 1951. She lived in Wellman before moving to Tahoka in 1960. Catherine was the Director of Lynn County Pioneers for over 10 years. She was a contract bridge player, loved dominos, needle point, embroidery, jig saw puzzles and board games in general. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tahoka, as well as the Eastern Star.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Lee and husband Scott of Lubbock; one brother, Curtis Thomas of Shreveport, Louisiana; one daughter-in-law, Maritia Barham of Brownwood, Texas; four grandchildren, Tyler Stansell, Garrett Barham and wife Kelsey, Carson Barham, Maddie Brown and husband Jack; two great-grandchildren, Kase Stansell and Wesley Barham. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons, Frank and Doug Barham.

Visitation for Catherine will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Combest Family Funeral Home in Tahoka. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Friday, November 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Tahoka with Cliff Holdridge officiating. Private burial will be in the Nevels Cemetery under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Home in Tahoka.

In lieu of flowers, the Barham family requests memorial donations in Catherine's memory be sent to the Lynn County Pioneers, P. O. BOX 223, Tahoka, Texas 79373.
