Cecilia (Quirino) Gonzales, 80, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 1, 2022. Cecilia was born on December 15, 1941, in Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, to the late Anacleto Quirino, Sr. and Ignacia (Acosta) Quirino.
Cecilia’s great joy was being surrounded by children and took delight in making them feel special. She was a phenomenal cook and cherished preparing a Christmas meal for her family. She loved baking cookies for her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include two sons, Mark Ybarra and his wife Madge of Converse, Texas and Xavier Ybarra of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Annette MacIntyre and her husband Bill of New Braunfels, Texas and Lisa Fouse and her husband David of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Jose Quirino of San Diego, California and Leopoldo Quirino of Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Consuelo Wallis and her husband Leo of Schertz, Texas. She was a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gabriel G. Ybarra; one daughter, Yvonne Y. Lucero-Ybarra, seven brothers, Adolfo I. Quirino, Arturo Quirino, Francis Xavier Quirino, Carlos Quiniro, Sr., Wilfredo Quirino and Eduardo Quirino; one sister, Yvonne Quirino-Lozano.
Cecilia’s family invites you to join them for her Celebration of Life services on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10 AM in the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas. Pastor Jeff McCreight will be the officiant. Inurnment of her cremains will follow at 11:30 AM in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.
