Charles Vaughan Kimbrell, Sr.

Charles Vaughan Kimbrell, Sr. of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the age of 68.  He was born February 17, 1946 in Berry, Alabama to James and Edyth (Powers) Kimbrell.  Charles married Nita Williams on April 2, 1965.  They moved to the Lubbock area in 1986 where he worked in the oilfield. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nita; two sons, Von Kimbrell and wife Scarlet and Charles Vaughn “Chuck” Kimbrell and wife Lindsay, all of Lubbock; two daughters, Anita “Rosie” Kimbrell and husband Jimmy and Bonnie Putman and husband Ricky, all of Midland; siblings, J. W. Kimbrell of Brownfield, Virginia Johnson of Midland, and Wanda Owens of Alamogordo, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and four sisters.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Idalou Cemetery.
