Charles Lowell Wynn, a resident of Rockport TX, was 71 years old when he went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 7, 2022. He was born in Ropesville, TX on October 19, 1950. Charles graduated from Coronado High School, class of 1969 and went on to attend Texas Tech University where he met and eventually married his lifelong love Marianne Mostia Wynn on December 19, 1971. They were married in San Benito, TX, Marianne's hometown. Charles worked at Holden-Dotson Nursery and then for the Texas Highway Department until earning his real estate license in 1976 where he joined John Walton's Century 21. Marianne became a social worker for the State of Texas as they joyfully welcomed the arrival of their son Brandon in 1974, and daughter Rebecca in 1975. In 1978 Charles earned his broker's license and started his own business, Charles Wynn Real Estate. He was an accomplished real estate professional, spanning many decades and he became a successful home builder in the 1990's and early 2000's. During that time, Marianne earned a bachelor's degree and subsequently a master's degree in education from Texas Tech University and eventually became a Head Start Counselor at Martin Elementary. She was loved by all, giving her very best for many years to children who needed it most. She retired from counseling in 2006 to spend more time with Charles, her children, and four grandchildren. Over the years, Charles and Marianne cherished their time together on the Texas coast, sharing their home and gathering often with friends, family, and most importantly their grandchildren!
Charles is survived by his son, Brandon Wynn and wife Marci; granddaughters, Calle Elizabeth Wynn and Cady Grace Wynn; daughter, Rebecca Mishark-Wynn and husband Tim; grandsons, Nicholas Newberry and Tomas CJ Mishark. He is also survived by his beloved aunts, uncles, sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marianne, his bride of 47 years preceded Charles in death in 2018. They are now eternally reunited through grace and by the promise of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather (known as Grampy), uncle, and friend. He will be remembered most for his big heart, contagious smile, generosity, and zest for life!
A memorial service celebrating Charles' life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Sophia's Place - 7330 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79416.
