Cindy Duffy, 68, of Lubbock, passed away on Thursday morning, June 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 1, 1954, in Amherst, Lamb County, Texas to Joan (Priddy) McCoy and the late Winfred Crosby.
Cindy attended Amherst High School, graduating in 1972 and was the Valedictorian of her class. She then attended West Texas State at Canyon, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, in 1977. After graduation, she married Cornelius "Neil" Arthur Duffy, III, on May 21, 1977, in Amherst. She worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Amherst and Littlefield hospitals, retiring in 1986.
She loved traveling with her husband, especially to Colorado and the Texas coast and Las Vegas. She enjoyed cooking, working with electronics, and loved taking care of her family, which was a top priority for her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Neil; one son, J. Paul Duffy of Dallas; one daughter, Holly Hoelscher and her husband Joe of New Home; her mother, Joan McCoy of Littlefield and three grandchildren, Paul Hoelscher, Lucy Hoelscher and James Hoelscher. She was preceded in death by her father.
There will be no visitation scheduled for Cindy. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2 PM in the Amherst Cemetery, in Amherst, Texas under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes. Deacon Dick McCann, of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, will be the officiant.
