William Dale Brunton of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the age of 66. He was born February 24, 1958, in Bakersfield, California to the late Glen Dale and Dorothy Elizabeth (Blackwell) Brunton. The family moved to Oklahoma as Dale was starting high school. It was then he was able to establish his roots as a member of the Delaware Tribe, a rich history stemming from his grandparents. During a revival in 1977 he met his future wife, Melinda Fergason. The couple married on May 17, 1980, and they eventually made their home in Lubbock where Dale worked as an electronic technician for the United States Post Office for 32 years. He enjoyed carpentry and spent many hours playing his guitar.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Melinda; daughters, Rachel Johnston and husband Russell and Sarah Hancock and husband Michael, all of Lubbock and Amy Leaver and husband David of Australia; sister, Pat Poschman of Wisconsin; and seven grandchildren who adored their Grandpa.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, January 3, 2025, at The Heights Fellowship. Memorial donations in Dale’s name can be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702-21st St, Lubbock, Texas 79410.
