A true country man and devoted believer in God, passed away at the age of 71 on January 4th, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents Charlie Patterson and Thelma Sober, Tommy Adams, sister Oleta Commander and Grandmother Melissa Jane Reeves. Danny leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and service.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirlene Patterson, his sister Mary Jane Adams of Plano and four sons and their families- Matt & Bliss of Lubbock, Kevin & Magan of Little Elm, Thomas of Tahoka, and Mark of Pampa. Danny's love extended to his 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, bringing joy and laughter to the family.
A proud Vietnam veteran, Danny served in the Navy from 1969 to 1973. His commitment extended to the USS HALSEY DLG-23, where he served as an Air Traffic Controller & Operations Specialist, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. He also proudly served on the USS STEIN DE-1065 as a plank owner and an electronic warfare specialist.
Post-military life, Danny continued his journey as a mechanic for over 40 years, skillfully navigating the world of machinery and as a cattleman. His life, a testament to dedication and service, will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Arrangements are under the care of Combest Funeral Directors in Lubbock and Tahoka, Texas. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to pay their respects at Combest Funeral Home in Lubbock on Wednesday January 10th from 5-8pm. Graveside services will be held at Nevels Memorial Cemetery the following day, January 11, 2024, at 2:00pm.
