David B. Leal, 65, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday evening, January 21, 2022. David was born on December 27, 1956, in Amarillo, Randall County, Texas, to the late Ismael Leal and Guadalupe (Ortiz) Leal.
He met Josie Valdez, and they were married on July 14, 2018, in Austin, Texas.
David worked as a truck driver for a cement company for many years, before retiring in 2021. He loved ammunition, making his own bullets, and was a gun enthusiast as well as camping. His life centered around his family, especially his grandchildren, and keeping his family together. He was brought up in the Christian faith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Josie; two sons, David Leal, Jr. of Lockhart, Andrew Leal of Boston, Massachusetts; one daughter, Amy Day of Kyle; five brothers, Tony Leal, Ismael Leal, Felix Chavez and Sal Bustillos, all of Amarillo and Fernando Leal of Plainview; five sisters, Sara Garcia of Plainview, Barbara Ramirez of Lubbock, Susan Chavez of Amarillo, Janie Sauceda of Hobbs, New Mexico and Becky Cardenas of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren.
