David Munos

David Munos, 81, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.   David was born on August 3, 1942, in Melvin, McCulloch County, Texas, to the late Ricardo Munos and Mary (Luera) Cordero.  He was the devoted husband of Lucy Munos who recently preceded him in death on Monday, May 13, 2024.

David attended and graduated from Olton High School in Olton, Texas.

He met the love of his life, Lucy Nolan, and they were united in marriage on September 13, 1965, in Olton, Texas.

David loved his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.  He served in the United States Air Force and was a proud, honorably discharged member of the military.  David was a hardworking man that provided for his family.  He worked in property maintenance for Bobby Day Real Estate for many years, before retiring in 1997.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.  He was known to pass out his snack to whoever came by.

David enjoyed coaching his boys and nephews in baseball.  He also enjoyed watching TV and game shows with his beloved wife, Lucy, whom he took care of until the very end.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include sons, David Munos, Jr. and wife Johanna of Mississippi, Anthony Munos and wife Laura of Lubbock, Rudy Munos and wife Kristin of Lubbock, and Danny Orosco of  California; daughters, Christine Villanueva and husband Tony of Lubbock, and Alexzandra Trevino of Michigan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Doel Cordero and wife Hillary of Dumas; one sister, Rosalinda Hernandez of McAllen. David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucy, and a brother, Junior Cordero.

A visitation for David will be held from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway in Lubbock.  Following visitation, the Recitation of the Rosary will be from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.  Deacon Severo Alvarado, of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, will be the officiant.  Cremation will follow under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.  Inurnment of cremains will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 3, 2024, in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
