David L. Snook

Retired Msgt. David L. Snook of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the age of 77.  He was born December 15, 1936 in Winfield, Kansas to the late Orval and Nellie (Thomas) Snook.  David served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  After returning to the states he served as sector supervisor for Air Force recruiting before retiring after 23 years of service.  He then worked as a credit manager and men’s clothing buyer at Dunlaps.  He married Becky Padgett on June 25, 1982 in Lubbock.  David was a member of Westmont Christian Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky; son, Tony Lee Snook and wife Shellie of Lubbock; siblings, Dennis Lee Snook and Wanda Calendar of Grayson, Louisiana and Karen LaBreu and husband Dale of Denison; two grandchildren, Jody Lee Snook and wife Laura of Allen and Jeffrey Morgan Snook and wife Ashley of San Angelo; and two great-grandchildren, Sadie Lea and Morgan Grace Snook.

Viewing will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Westmont Christian Church.
