David Richard Watkins

Dave Richard Watkins passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, surrounded by family in his home in Lubbock, TX. He was born Monday, August 11, 1952, to Jack and Elaine (Stockwell) Watkins in Uniontown, PA. After graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1970, Dave served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps, where he flew helicopters as a Naval Aviator from 1973-1979. He then studied finance at Midwestern State University, graduating with honors in 1991.
 
Dave was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Jack and Elaine Watkins. Those remaining to cherish his many memories are his loving wife Pam Watkins, his son Ryan Watkins, his daughter Brianne (Ian) van Reenen and their son Evan van Reenen whom he called “Buck,” his daughter Stephanie (Adam) Walton, his sister Pam (Steve) Watkins-Rhone, and Dave’s loyal dog, Maddie.
 
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and in honor of Dave’s wishes, the family celebrated his life with a private memorial.
