Debbi Marlene Summerlin was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 18th, 2023.
“Little Debbi” was born on August 7th, 1953, to parents J.C. and Margie Summerlin in Levelland, TX. She was the youngest of 4 siblings, Julene, Shirley, and Artis.
Debbi’s spunky and outgoing personality made her a perfect fit for the cheerleading squad at Lubbock High, and her 5’2 frame made her a scrappy addition to the basketball team.
After school Debbi got her Cosmetology license and became a nail technician. Her huge heart and loving spirit called her to focus her talents on the often-forgotten elderly community. She provided her services to multiple senior care facilities around Lubbock.
While cosmetology was her professional calling her true passion was her family. Debbi’s pride and joy was her kids, grandkids, and great grandbabies.
Debbi was greeted in Heaven by her parents J.C and Margie, her sister Julene, and her son-in-law Truman. Debbi is survived by her sister Shirley, brother Artis, her daughter Dana, son Brandon, daughter-in-law Kelly, grandchildren Branda, Jason, Tylar, Kaleb, Brody, Kennedy, granddaughter-in-law Jessica, and great-grandbabies Bradyn, Jayce, Landyn, Jaxon, and Jett.
Everyone who knew Debbi understands “big things come in small packages”. She may have joined the Lord, but she will continue to have an impact on all those she touched. “Little Debbi” was a fighter and must have been exactly who William Shakespeare had imagined when he wrote “Though she be but little, she is fierce”.
