Dora Soto

September 8, 1932 — March 30, 2022

Dora Soto Soto, 89, of Idalou passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. She was born September 8, 1932 in Refugio, Texas to Jose Maria and Ysidra (Medellin) Soto. Dora married Jesus Soto in Richland Springs, Texas. She moved to the Idalou and Petersburg area where she worked for Lorenzo Textile Mills. Dora showered the love of a mother on her children and grandchildren as she also imparted the wisdom from God to them. She always stood with her children and was a "second mother" to her grandchildren. Dora had a large heart and was a very giving person. She was famous for her tamales!

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Oralia (Geraldo) Reyna, Thomas Soto and Domingo (Paula) Soto; son-in law, Julian Guadalcazar; one brother; one sister; 13 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Soto; sons, Adan Soto and Jesse Soto; daughter Maria Soto Guadalcazar; grandchildren, Armando Soto and Tomas Soto, Jr.; 9 brothers and 7 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 1-8pm at the Venue on Broadway with there being a time to share memories at 6pm. Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 10am at First Baptist Church in Idalou with interment to follow at Idalou Cemetery under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes of Lubbock.
