Dora Trevino

February 20, 1944 — December 28, 2021

Dora A. Trevino, 77, of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 28, 2021. She was born on February 20, 1944, in Somerville, Burleson County, Texas to the late Manuel Aguilar and Irene (Oliva) Aguilar.

She met and married the love of her life, Tony Vasquez Trevino, on January 20, 1961, in Lubbock, where they have resided.

Dora was a Teacher's Assistant for Carol Thompson Junior High for 5 years, until the school closed. She then went to work for Harwell Elementary and worked there for over 25 years, before retiring in 2000. Considered a "master organizer" by her family, she was also an avid reader, loved to interior decorate, garden and cook her famous homemade tortillas. Dora was also known to sit on a chair for hours, at a slot machine in Las Vegas, until it paid off big time while Tony just watched in envy. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Those left to mourn her passing include her husband, Tony; one son, Edward Trevino and his wife Rose of Lubbock; two daughters, Debra Bursiaga and her husband Juan of Lubbock and Christina Ritter and her husband Mike of Amarillo; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Manuel Aguilar, Jr., Samuel Aguilar, Bobby Aguilar and Alfonso Aguilar.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be privately held by the family.
