Doris Eurlene Hinkle

Doris Eurlene Hinkle of Lubbock passed away on July 25, 2013 at the age of 76.  She was born September 28, 1936 in Floyd County to Clarence Wesley and Marjorie (Lyles) Jones.  Doris attended Floydada High School and worked as a homemaker.  She married Billy F. Hinkle on March 28, 1962 in Vernon.  The couple lived in Floydada for many years where they raised their children and retired at Possum Kingdom Lake before Billy passed away.  Doris then made her home in Lubbock where she was a member of LakeRidge United Methodist Church and was active in the clothes closet ministry.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Billy Gene and wife Duffy and Joe and wife Linda, all of Lubbock; three daughters, Janey Green of Malvern, Arkansas, Vikki Yeary and husband Max of Floydada, and Sharron Fulton and husband Bill of Lubbock; brother, Randall Jones and wife Janette of Hamilton; two sisters, Ann Phillips and husband Jerry of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Jan Richburg and husband Quaid of McKinney; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Jones; and husband, Billy.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes of Lubbock.  Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Floydada, 203 W. Kentucky Street, Floydada, with interment to follow at Floyd County Memorial Park.
