Doris Nell King

Doris Nell King of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the age of 83.  She was born October 6, 1930 in Kress to Ezra and Mary (Hudgins) Burnet.  Doris married David King on June 26, 1954 in Plainview.  They made their home in Lubbock and were members of Sunset Church of Christ.  Doris enjoyed gardening and was a talented artist and seamstress.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, David; two daughters, Sharon Wood and husband Bob and Lori Fleming and husband Jon, all of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Jennifer Whitehead, Heather Backus, Allie Fleming, Davis Fleming and Cameron Wood; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Sunset Church of Christ.  Burial will be private.

Memorial donations can be made to the Children’s Home of Lubbock, World Bible School, or Sunset International Bible Institute.
