Dorothy Pauline Landes passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 24, 2025, enfolded in the love of her family.

Born on January 21, 1929, in Shallowater, Texas, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Bessie Lee Vaught and Ray Lee Ritchey. She proudly graduated with the esteemed class of 1946 from O’Donnell High School, marking the beginning of a life defined by dedication, love, and compassion.

In her early days, Dorothy took on the role of entrepreneur with her restaurant, "The News Stand," in Denver City, Texas. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to nurturing a warm and welcoming home for her family. More than a devoted homemaker, she also contributed to the workforce as a machine operator for Texas Instruments until her well-deserved retirement in the mid-1980s. Her rich tapestry of interests included gardening, crocheting, and cross-stitching, pursuits that brought her joy and fulfillment. In her later years, Dorothy found immense happiness in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a testament to her unwavering love for her family.

Dorothy's legacy is one of resilience and kindness, and she is predeceased by her loving parents, her husband, James Landes, as well as her brothers, Sammy Ray and Jimmy Don Ritchey. The family also mourns the loss of her sons, Rickey Wright and Tony Wright, and her granddaughter, Jessica Diane Wright.

She leaves behind a treasured family, including her devoted daughter, Terry Sellers (Troy), grandchildren Katrina Michelle Rasco (Terry), Holly Sellers Dorman (Stacy), and Candice Wright, along with great-grandchildren Kayla McCurdy (Nakeisha), Jennifer Greer (Tate), Eric McCurdy, Tiffany York (Bryan), Hayden Young, Makinzy Rasco, and eight great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
