Dorothy Rae Rogers

Dorothy Rae Rogers of Lubbock passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the age of 89.  She was born January 8, 1925 in Florence, Texas to Caxton Cavitt and Mary Myrtle (Hall) Yett. In 1945 she married Billy Ray Rogers who preceded her in death in 1978. Dorothy was a member of Monterey Church of Christ where she enjoyed spending time in Ladies Bible Study. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Rod Rogers (Judy) of Lubbock and Gary Rogers (Martha) of Amarillo; one brother, David Yett of Houston; five grandchildren, Nathaniel Rogers, Timothy Rogers, Rachel Botello, John Rogers and Lori Kay Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Harrison Galbraith, Scout Galbraith, and Devin Rogers.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Grace and Ruby; three brothers, Carl, Dan and Garland.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Monterey Church of Christ. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Monterey Church of Christ Children’s Ministry or Hospice of Lubbock.
