Douglas Gene Bice of Portales, formerly of Lubbock, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the age of 57. He was born January 10, 1957 in Lubbock to Billy Jack and Lucille (Terry) Bice. He graduated from Lubbock High School and joined the U.S. Navy where he was stationed on the USS Enterprise. After honorable discharge, Doug worked for Cox Cable in Lubbock and Clovis for 14 years. There he was a member of the Faith Christian Church. Upon moving to Portales Doug worked as a carrier for the newspaper. He married Rosalina Taguba on August 15, 1997 in Lubbock.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 17 years, Rosalina and their daughter, Angelina, both of Portales; daughter Joy Bice of Oregon; father, Billy Jack Bice and wife Helen of Corpus Christi; step children, Ann Camonagan of San Diego, Michael Camonagan of Washington State, and Richard White and wife Teri of Idaho; brother, Weldon Bice of San Antonio; step brother and sisters Mark, Debbie and Dana; one grandchild; eight step grandchildren; two aunts; and one cousin.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.
