Douglas D. Brown

Lubbock

 

Douglas D. Brown of Lubbock went home to Heaven on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the age of 65.  He was born in Warsaw, New York to Gordon and Ann (Cambridge) Brown.  Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam War, and he was also a 32nd degree mason at Yellowhouse Lodge #841 A.F. and A.M.  He married Virginia Arellano on July 7, 1973 in Lubbock and was a member of Trinity Church. Douglas worked for Southwestern Public Service for 29 years.  His pride and joy were his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and son-in-law.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 40 years, Virginia; darling daughters, Katie Brown Faber and husband Brett of Okinawa, Japan and Lori Brown of Perryton, Texas; two adored grandchildren, Anna and Liam Drum of Perryton, Texas, and one grand dog, Saucy; brothers, Gordon Brown of Haywood, California and Kevin Brown and wife Pat of Dale, New York; sister, Joanne Wert and husband Ron of Varysburg, New York; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Brown of Lubbock and Adela Jones and husband Alfred of Dallas, and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Ron, and brothers, Clair and Harold Brown; and sister, Brenda Donnelly.

Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Trinity Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Bob Faber, Alfred Jones, Adam Jones, Shay Sanchez, Scott Witt, and Larry Rocheleau.
