Dubelia M. Herrera, 87, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 9, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Dubelia was born to the late Juan Medrano and Cecilia (Fonseca) Medrano, on July 17, 1934, in Runge, Karnes County, Texas.
She met Guadalupe Herrera, the love of her life, and they were united in marriage on September 17, 1948, in Kenedy, Texas.
Dubelia, according to her family, was a caregiver all her life, always working to help others and putting herself last. She loved ceramics, crocheting, but most of all she loved spending time with family. She was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Church in Lubbock.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her husband, Guadalupe; two daughters, Sara (Gilbert) Lozano of San Antonio and Cathy Herrera of Lubbock; one son, Rene Herrera of Clovis, New Mexico; one brother, Hilberto Medrano of Runge, Texas; one sister, Julia (Raymond) Reyes of Runge, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, 3 sons, Tony, Lupe and Raymond Herrera, and 4 grandsons.
A time of reflection and visitation for Dubelia will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2022, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Alliance Church, 5825 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407. Final rites and interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.
Pallbearers will be Jaxon Hyde-Herrera, Johnathan Olivas, James Herrera, Duncan Myles Campbell, Jacob Gaitan and Gary Herrera. Honorary pallbearers will be Miaya Finch and Aiden Herrera-Cornett.
