Edward Jake "E.J." McHugh

Edward Jake “E.J.” McHugh, a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew and cousin went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the age of 17.  He was born June 11, 1995 to Tim and Penny McHugh.     E. J. was a senior at Cooper High School where he was on the football and baseball teams.  He was also very involved in Young Life, and regularly attended their summer camp.  He had an infectious personality that instantly drew people around him to smile and laugh.  E. J. was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents and brother, Tim, Penny and Evan McHugh of Lubbock; grandmothers, Nancy McHugh of Madison, WI and Maga Elkins of Lubbock; aunts and uncles, Diane “Deedah” (Rich) Nielsen of West Bend, WI, Jeff McHugh and Julie (Randy) Tauber of Madison, WI, John McHugh of Redondo Beach, CA, Sammie Simmons, Scott (Adella) Elkins, and Joe Elkins of Lubbock, and Judy (Jerry) Wall of Shreveport, LA; as well as cousins, and other relatives and friends.

E. J. was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edward McHugh and Jake Elkins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Sunset Church of Christ with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens.
