Edward B. Mendoza, Jr., 75, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. He was born April 25, 1949, in Cameron, Texas to Edward and Guadalupe (Mendez) Mendoza, Sr. At the age of 14, Edward started helping his father at the James Boydstun Farms. He was a “go getter” as he would say. Edward worked farming for 32 years before retiring in 1995 with Norman Roye.
Edward enjoyed working in his yard, going dancing on the weekends, and loved watching the 1960 shows Andy Griffith and Gun Smoke. When Monday mornings came around, he would say “I never had spare time to do anything, it was always all work”. Edward will best be remembered as a loving father, brother and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Emily Navarrette and husband Jeremy of Lubbock, JoAnn Arredondo of Ralls, and Carlos Mendoza and wife Angela of Sweetwater; siblings, Mary Reyna, Rosalinda Mendoza, and Jesse Mendoza, all of Ralls; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Juan, Carlos, and Ted Mendoza and Connie Salazar.
