Ella Kathryn King

Ella Kathryn King, 80, of Lubbock, was lifted into heaven to be with her Lord Jesus early Thursday morning, after a lengthy illness.  She was born on December 30, 1943, in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, to the late William Floyd King and Mildred Lucille (Flenniken) King.

She attended Dimmitt High School, graduating with the senior class of 1962.  She continued her education at Harding Christian University and then on to Texas Women’s University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics.

She worked as a counselor at the Navajo Reservation School in Shiprock, New Mexico for approximately five years, and worked as a purchasing agent for an electronics and manufacturing firm in Portland, Oregon.  While living in Lubbock, she worked at Fiesta Motors in the credit collection department.   She was a member of Sunset Church of Christ for the last 15 years.

She loved to read, sing and participate in martial arts.  She was a dog lover and taught dog agility classes, by teaching dogs to go up ramps and jump through hoops.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her brother, Sam King and his wife Lue Jane of Lubbock.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 29, 2024, in the Auditorium of Sunset Church of Christ.   Trey Morgan will be the officiant for the service.  Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
