Emma M. Marmolejo

Emma M. Marmolejo, 77, of Idalou went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. She was born to Cristoval and Nicholasa (Cantu) Martinez on May 25, 1937 in Alamo, TX. Emma married Alfredo Marmolejo II on January 24, 1954 in San Juan, TX.  She worked for Texas Instruments for 18 years before working for Quail Ridge Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Idalou.

Emma is survived by her husband of sixty years, Alfredo of Idalou; daughters, Mary Cundick and husband Jeff of Medford, OR and Sally Skillman and husband Mitchell of Lubbock; sons, Richard Marmolejo and wife Janie of Lubbock, Alfredo Marmolejo III and wife Marina of Idalou, Michael Marmolejo and wife Lisa of Lubbock and Raymundo Marmolejo and wife Elizabeth of Lubbock; sisters, Ofelia Andrada of Port Lavaca and Rebecca Ordon of Chicago Heights, IL; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her parents, Cristoval and Nicholasa; a granddaughter, Michelle Paez; two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes, Idalou with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014 at Primera Iglesia Bautista, Idalou.  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at First Baptist Church Idalou with interment to follow at Idalou Cemetery.
