Emma Villarreal was born Oct. 26, 1944 in Alice, Texas; the daughter of Guadalupe and Cecilio Villarreal. Emma married the love of her life Frank S. Ramos in Brownfield, Texas in 1962. Together they raised three sons: Frank Ramos, Jr., Pete C. McLaughlin (Kirk McLaughlin), and John Ramos (Diana). Emma started a new chapter as a fiercely independent woman in 1980 working as a dietary specialist at local community hospitals until she retired in 2014 from Covenant Hospital. As a devoted mother and grandmother, Emma, gave all that she had to those she loved. She will be remembered for her delicious Mexican breakfasts that included homemade tortillas and beans and for her impeccable taste and thrift shop finds. Emma was a strong woman who overcame all obstacles and is a role model for her family.
Emma is survived by two sons, Frank Ramos Jr. and John Ramos both of Lubbock; two sisters Margie and Vilma Villarreal of San Mateo, CA and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Pete C. McLaughlin, Evelyn Slavierio sister and Cecil Villarreal, Jr. brother.

Graveside services will be held at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Texas on January 15, 2022 at 11am.
